The company is a blending of ideas of a couple who wanted to help aspiring franchisors to launch their current business into a franchise system that will generate inquiries from franchisees from different parts of Metro Manila as well as major cities and provinces in the country like Baguio, Dagupan, Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, Lucena, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro and Davao.

The company is coined from the popular monicker of Mrs. Laurente by her marketing major professor at UP-DILIMAN. Her professor believed that she possessed the character of bluefire. They were five in a group and she was the most tranquil yet the most intense and extreme . The question was raised why bluefire, according to her professor, the blue portion of the fire is known to be the hottest which we are unaware of. This is contrary to the popular notion that the red portion is the one giving the maximum heat.

Mr. and Mrs. Laurente decided to name their company as BLUEFIRE FRANCHISE DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT CO. because of the fusion of ideals from UP and PUP where the couple graduated.
